About

"Attachments" is a visual exploration of the people and places that inform who I once was and who I am today. The overarching theme of the work is the passage of time and aging. I have spent most of my 20s thinking through what it means to bid goodbye to childhood and to look forward into the next phases of life. As a child, the world around me felt utopic. Childhood innocence allowed what felt like an indefinite bliss. Adulthood came as a shock to me, and with it came my struggles with anxiety and depression. I have had a reckoning with the reality of daily life – what it means to find joy in the midst of the cognizance that comes with getting older. I look back to myself as a child for reminders of that joy.
