Hi, I'm Hunter.
I am a photographer and writer. I'm currently pursuing a graduate degree in New Media Photojournalism at George Washington University.
As a photographer, my specialities are portraiture, landscapes, and documentary work. There is a special place in my heart for film photography, and I [secretly] love the smell of darkroom chemicals. Before moving to DC, I worked as a contributing photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News, Plano Magazine, and other local publications and nonprofits throughout the DFW metroplex.
My work is rooted in my desire to tell my own story as well as the many stories around me. I believe that stories, when told thoughtfully and empathically, have the power to transform perspectives.
I live in Washington, DC with my husband Grant and dog Wilbur – but Texas is where I feel most at home. In my free time, you'll find me reading or lugging my massive medium format camera around town.
