"Time Pictures" is a visual exploration of the way time imposes change upon every living thing – human beings, land, and the creatures around us. After I gave birth to my first child in January 2024, I reflected on childhood, pondered my current life stage, and wondered about the phases of life that will come. I have dealt with anxiety and depression for most of my adult life, but since the birth of my daughter, I have dealt with intrusive thoughts and health anxiety as well for the first time in my life. The fear I feel of something happening to myself – leaving my daughter without a mother – or my daughter is sometimes debilitating and has affected my ability to think clearly. My constant desire to fight the inevitability of time comes into play with this newfound anxiety as well. As I look forward to new experiences with my daughter, those hopes are tinged with the awareness that none of us are promised tomorrow. 

I seek to document the feeling of passing time through this work.
